To help facilitate quality medical care at discounted rates, Millennium India Education Foundation launched MIEF health cards. Under this project, members were registered as MIEF health card members and provided MIEF Membership Health Card Number, which would entitle them for getting these facilities at select health centers and hospitals.
Some of the partners and discounts available were as shown in the following table. MIEF health card had over 200 members from its launch in 2008-09.
The project was launched to help people get access to healthcare at discounted rates. It was a great exercise and helped people recognise the importance of getting their own medical cards/ insurances in place as well.
