Between 3rd-23rd March 2012 at Latitude Art Gallery, Lado Sarai New Delhi was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, MIEF organized an event for the Revitalization of cultural traditions of Kashmiris through: A solo painting exhibition by Kashmiri Artist Veer Munshi called “SHRAPNEL”.
The exhibition was curated by Ranjit Hoskote. Apart from an exhibition of paintings and photographs, a conversation session with Veer Munshi was hosted by historian Suhail Hashmi.
A display of photographs with snapshots of empty houses in the valley, left by Kashmiri Pandits who began to flee in 1990, a video film, paintings portraying the past memories about chaos and claustrophobia of a riot scene was depicted. This event was covered well in the press as well and appreciated by art lovers.
MIEF will likely share and convene another such even in the coming months in 2014.
