Millennium India Education Foundation (MIEF), has been working on One health concept to update the medical & veterinary community on early diagnosis, treatment. prevention and control of zoonotic diseases of public health importance in Delhi and Mumbai since 2009 by organizing one day National conference annually in which veterinary and medical experts /scientists share their field expertise/ research/ experiences in handling diseases of public health importance at field levels that helps in designing guidelines for its prevention and control.
This year, the 6th annual conference is being held at Mumbai Veterinary College premises Parel Mumbai on 29th February 2020 (9 am-5 pm). It will be jointly organised with Seth G S Medical college & KEM Hospital Mumbai ,Mumbai Veterinary College, Mumbai , Heart Care Foundation of India ,Confederation of Medical Associations of Asia and Oceania (CMAAO) and Life Insurance Corporation of India West Zone.
This conference will discuss about the current status on how one health approach is progressing on the early diagnosis and prevention of some of these diseases in both animal and human sectors.
The objectives are:
1. To promote and protect the health and well-being of all species by enhancing cooperation among veterinary, medical and environmental professionals where they can interact with each other and share their experiences in preventing the spread of diseases of public health importance (both emerging and re-emerging)
2. To promote inter-sectoral cooperation in surveillance of such animal diseases, which have the potential to cross boundaries due to rapid influx of diseases world over.. These diseases are associated with high
morbidity and mortality rates in their new found hosts, the human beings.
Who will be taking part:
1. Experts from veterinary & medical sectors, who would exchange their researches and experiences under one platform.
2. Medical & Veterinary practitioners, Resident doctors, Medical and Veterinary Students, Animal Keepers, professionals, NGOs etc.
