Zoonotic diseases transfer from animals to humans. While our pets love us, this is usually not under their control. We do not need a new panic mode generation, but a lot of awareness around this topic, especially for children and pet owners. At MIEF, we love animals, and this is our small effort to help people working with animals keep safe!
Furthering our efforts towards the awareness of zoonotic diseases, MIEF is organizing a Zoonosis conference on July 6, 2014. People or agencies working with animals are invited to attend the conference.
A similar conference was organized in July 2013 and was very well received. Awareness about zoonotic diseases is very crucial in a country like India, which is considered globally as one of the hotspots for the highest incidence of zoonotic diseases. We’ve carried out various events in this regard, especially for awareness among children. We still have a long way to go to eradicate these deadly diseases from our country and it needs a combined effort from the government, NGOs and the people.
